Ok, so as is the norm for life on the farm, we keep moving–and hopefully moving forward in some general direction. I was once told that, “If you aren’t moving forward, then your falling behind.”
The spring and summer plantings are just about in. The weather did not cooperate yesterday when I got home at 3 and today I work second shift. So all outside work has to be done tomorrow on my day off–the last of the annuals, general weeding, cut grass, weed whack, etc.
Then I have to keep completing the Great Shift. In order to accommodate the long arm machine coming in July I’ve had to shift things around. The room that used to accommodate my sewing room will not have to be dedicated to just quilting with the big machine on its 10 foot frame. That meant that everything else–sewing and cutting–had to move upstairs with me in my bedroom. There is room–it just took a lot of house stretching to make it happen! LOL
There will be lots to do to get ready for new machine. But no elephant is ever eaten in one bite. I have functionality so I can keep piecing while I am waiting for the machine, and, not for anything, its working out OK. A little tight, but manageable. And there is nothing wrong with that!
Here’s a few pics of the gardens around the house. BIG difference from where we were 3 years ago. The peonies and iris are so unbelievably beautiful you would think they were fake. But the scent is pure heaven! I think I am doing better having moved up North with the change of the seasons simply because of the huge variety of color palettes that you don’t get living on the Gulf Coast.
